Why Earth Week?
The Earth Week campaign was developed by young people to reach young people. We, the people behind the Earth Week campaign, believe a strong and consistent coordinated effort is needed to create a better future for ourselves and our loved ones. We want to spark a movement to put an end to the systematic degradation of the environment. We focus on educating young people to make the shift to sustainable living one sustainable practice at a time.
Problem statement
College students will become leaders in the future so it is crucial they practice and promote environmentally sustainable behaviors and habits to conserve the world’s depleting resources. There is little attention given to environmental issues and sustainable progression in the core curriculum at Truman. However, without addressing student’s attitudes and knowledge about environmental issue they will continue to grow and worsen.
Goals of the Earth Week campaign
To increase the amount of Truman State University students who make sustainable lifestyle choices.
